About Angela Pickard

Angela practices as a family mediator with interest and expertise in parenting, mental health, wellness and family dispute resolution. She is a registered social worker, accredited family mediator, and family professional in collaborative practice. She spent over ten years as a roster mediator with the court-connected mediation program with mediate 393 inc / Toronto Family Mediation Services.

Angela has completed advanced training in family mediation, family law for non-lawyers, collaborative practice, family violence, equity and diversity, non-evaluative child interviewing along with ongoing professional development in many key areas that impact families going through separation and divorce.

Angela received her Master of Science in Social Work (M.S.S.W.) from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City, Advanced Bachelor in Social Work (B.S.W.) from McGill University and Honors Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario.  Angela achieved status as a PhD candidate by completing all the requirements of the doctoral program (courses, qualifying exam, thesis proposal, supervision) except for the dissertation in Social and Behavioural Health Sciences at the University of Toronto Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW),  member of Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM), member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and Ontario Chapter, member of the Peel-Halton Collaborative Practice Group and most recently Board Member of the Ontario Association of Collaborative Professionals (OACP) as Co-Chair of the Practices & Procedures Committee.

Angela has worked in the areas of mental health, substance abuse,  domestic violence, infectious disease and program planning / development / evaluation at several agencies including Sick Kids Hospital (Toronto,ON), Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (Toronto, ON), South Riverdale Community Health Centre (Toronto,ON), Public Health Agency of Canada (Toronto,ON), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Manhattan, NYC), Palladia Inc. (Harlem, NYC), Counselling Services Units Kings Country District Attorney's Office (Brooklyn, NYC), Outpatient Psychiatry Jewish General Hospital (Montreal, QC), Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (Toronto, ON), Commonwealth Caribbean Youth Centre (Georgetown, Guyana)
